Find Your Inner Money Personality
Many people today have different opinions and feelings towards money. Nearly two percent of Americans between the ages of twenty-five to sixty-five are actually wealthy. So what do these statistics imply to the other ninety-eight percent of people? What is it that separates a wealthy person from a not so wealthy person?
The fact is the majority of the population have the following feelings towards money. Some are intimidated by money or wealthy people. Others are nervous or confused around money. They have no intelligence or knowledge about how money works. All of the above feelings can be summed up as an indifference feeling towards or about money. A wealthy person unlike the average person is inspired by money and inspired what can actually happen with money in their life.
Now, lets take a look at nine personalities that may match your own personality towards or about money. The first is the party personality. This is the person who lives for the quick fix. Someone who sees money as a way to beat boredom. Second, the mindless personality, the person will approach life as a system. They want life to be organized but at the same time they are over cautious. Next is the therapeutic money personality where someone spends money to feel better. It is a way of confronting yourself when you feel bad. This leads me to the next personality, the guilty money personality. This personality can be summed up by the common statement that money is the root of all evil. Having a guilty feeling towards money actually pulls you back from achieving great wealth. As you continue to read on, many can look at the first four personalities and possibly label themselves as having one of them. Luckily, whatever your personality is towards money, you can still overcome these and become financially successful.
Continuing with our list is the competitive money personality. This is the determination to prove to yourself that you can do it. It gives you the drive and focus but can also end to financial mismanagement. By trying to “keep up with the Jones” you spend money that you don’t actually have. The next personality is the copy cat money personality. Simply put as an internal insecurity. You try to copy someone else’s life to feel a sense of achievement towards yourself. Number seven on the list, the addictive money personality. This is where someone makes purchases on a rush of emotion. Another words, you know you have just enough money to pay your bills this month but still you run out to the mall and charge large amount of money when in actuality you don’t have the necessary funds.
Next is the angry money personality. A person may be angry at something now or from the past and is using the expenditures of money to ease the anger. Lastly, on the list of money personalities that only a small percentage of people have is the one that separates itself from the rest, the bigger picture money personality. These are the people who have an investment strategy; they know where they are going. These people have a goal and they know they will reach their goal. Though they may have had one of the previous eight personalities, through experience and teachings they have learned to alter and change their personality towards money which in the end will create more money in their life.
